Keith Bellis BSc Dip Shi teaches Anatomy and philosophy. He first trained in Sports Science and has been working at a Physical Rehabilitation Centre since 1990. As a Shiatsu Therapist he works at The Nuffield Hospital, Exeter where he is keen to bring orthodox and complementary medicine together. He has great enthusiasm for anatomy and is also currently teaching the subject at The Devon School of Shiatsu and Exeter College. Julie Heaton Dip DSY, BSc, UICHT After receiving her degree in Psychology Julie trained as a Yoga teacher and has been teaching since 2001. Experienced in various forms of Yoga including Yoga for children, she is currently studying acupuncture and lives and works in Cardiff. Andrea Durant teaches an holistic approach. Originally trained at the Royal Ballet School, she is a qualified acupuncturist and holds a British Wheel of Yoga Diploma. She currently teaches in Exeter and for the "Life Centre" in London. Her teaching is influenced by Ashtanga Vinyasa, Swami Satyananda and more recently Buddhist Studies. Andrea Guest Dip DSY qualified with the Devon School of Yoga. She has been inspired by various teachers both in the Uk and India and has a holistic and eclectic approach towards Yoga. Simon Moore Dip DSY, has practiced Yoga with the School for over six years and has been teaching for the last four. Based in mid Devon he runs workshops and weekly classes incorporating the School's main themes and philosophies. Barry Elms BSc YRT is a yoga therapist, specialising in yoga for back pain, pregnancy and stress. He trained with the DSY and the Yoga Biomedical Trust, where he is currently working on a research project on yoga for back pain and has also completed training with Birthlight. Sally Ornellas DipOT, Dip DSY teaches yoga and is an occupational / psychological therapist with the NHS. Leif Olsen Dip DSY teaches yoga and is also a holistic childbirth educator and active birth teacher. Sarah-Jane Pedler Dip DSY teaches yoga and is also a practicing midwife. Ian Jamison BA(hons),PGCE, MA(dist) is head of RE at Kingsbridge Community College. He has studied Hinduism at undergrduate and postgraduate level and has considerable experience in teaching Hindubeliefs and practices at many levels. He is the author of "Hinduism" (Phillip Allan) and a contributor to the Routledge Encyclopedia of Hinduism. He has travelled extensively in India , both individually and leading educational parties. In 2007 Ian won the prestigious "Gaurdian award for teacher of the year in a secondary school" Mic Burley PhD Dip DSY and author of "Hatha Yoga: It's Context, Theory and Practice" although no longer actively teaching on the courses, remains as a valuable advisor to the school. |
