The schools eclectic mix of teachers bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to enhance students learning.

Duncan Hulin, MRSS YTF

The principal teacher, founder and director of the school. He is a practising Yoga Teacher/Therapist, Shiatsu Practitioner and is qualified in Ayurvedic Foot Pressure (Chavutty Thirumal) massage. Duncan healed himself of asthma using Yoga Therapy and has now been practising Yoga for 30 years and teaching for the past 25 years. In the early eighties he spent three consecutive winters in South India studying with the late Dr. B. P. Pillai, former director of the Government recognised Yoga Therapy Foundation, Trivandrum, Kerala. Duncan brings a wealth of experience to his holistic Yoga Teaching and Courses. He has worked with teenage students with learning difficulties and has led practical stress management programmes in schools. He also teaches several weekly classes, including for major corporations.

Keith Bellis BSc Dip Shi

Keith teaches Anatomy and philosophy. He first trained in Sports Science and has been working at a Physical Rehabilitation Centre since 1990. As a Shiatsu Therapist he works at The Nuffield Hospital, Exeter where he is keen to bring orthodox and complementary medicine together. He has great enthusiasm for anatomy and is also currently teaching the subject at The Devon School of Shiatsu and Exeter College.

Julie Heaton Dip DSY, BSc, UICHT

After receiving her degree in Psychology Julie trained as a Yoga teacher and has been teaching since 2001. Experienced in various forms of Yoga including Yoga for children, she is also a qualified acupuncturist and lives and works in Cardiff.

Andrea Durant

Andrea teaches an holistic approach. Originally trained at the Royal Ballet School, she is a qualified acupuncturist and holds a British Wheel of Yoga Diploma. She currently teaches in Exeter and for the "Life Centre" in London. Her teaching is influenced by Ashtanga Vinyasa, Swami Satyananda and more recently Buddhist Studies.

Andrea Guest Dip DSY

Andrea qualified with the Devon School of Yoga. She has been inspired by various teachers both in the Uk and India and has a holistic and eclectic approach towards Yoga.

Simon Moore Dip DSY

Simon has practiced Yoga with the School for over six years and has been teaching for the last four. Based in mid Devon he runs workshops and weekly classes incorporating the School's main themes and philosophies.

Barry Elms BSc YRT

Barry Elms BSc YRT is a Yoga Register Teacher (YRT 1000hr) and Yoga Therapist specialising in pregnancy and post-natal yoga, back pain and stress related conditions. He trained with the DSY and Birthlight and has studied Yoga Therapy at the Yoga Biomedical Trust.  He has also studied at Peninsula Medical School PHI and is continuing to study and research Yoga Therapy as a substantial part of a Masters degree.  He is particularly inspired by the Satyananda Yoga Tradition and Mandala Ashram in Wales.

Sally teaches yoga and is an occupational / psychological therapist with the NHS.

James Russell BA, DipYE (Diploma in yoga Education)

James first began to learn Hatha Yoga with Duncan Hulin in 2001. He went on to study with a number of other inspiring teachers in India and around the world. In 2007 James trained as a Yoga teacher in India, successfully completing a Diploma in Yoga Education. Since then, he has established a number of classes in Exeter and also continued to train as a teacher with the Devon School of Yoga. James devotes himself to the practice of yoga and also to sharing the practice with others. He runs the website www.exeterlovesyoga.co.uk.

Mik Burley PhD Dip DSY

Mik is the author of "Hatha Yoga: It's Context, Theory and Practice" although no longer actively teaching on the courses, remains as a valuable advisor to the school.
